Allison Gunnink, MBA, MT-BC received her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from Western Illinois University in 2010, her board certification shortly thereafter, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of St. Francis in 2013. Her primary focus has been hospice care, in which she has obtained the Hospice & Palliative Care Music Therapy certificate, but she has also trained for NICU music therapy and has managed a broad team of supportive care providers in an administrative role. Allison resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and three cats, and currently works as the Clinical Outcomes Manager for Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care.
Allison served on the Illinois Association for Music Therapy board in multiple roles, including archivist, website coordinator, president, and past president. In the Great Lakes Region, Allison served as the 2014 Conference Technology Chair, as well as a 2020 Conference Co-Chair. Currently, Allison continues her work as a member of the Illinois Music Therapy State Recognition Task Force, as well as an Assembly Delegate for AMTA. Additionally, Allison is a Board of Health Member for the Will County Health Department.
