Each year, the Great Lakes Region presents the following awards:
Every year the GLR acknowledges individuals who have given tremendous contributions to our field through regional awards. We are excited to introduce some new awards for our 2025 Awards cycle as a result of our GLR Strategic Planning process. These awards are:
- Exceptional Achievement Award: Awarded to any individual who resides and/or practices within the Great Lakes Region and who has made varied and distinguished contributions to the field of music therapy.
- Music Therapy Advancement Award: Awarded to any individual who resides and/or practices within the Great Lakes Region who has contributed to the knowledge base of the field of music therapy through a pattern of scholarly presentations, lectures, research activity, publications (print and/or web-based), podcasts, videos, innovative techniques, etc.
- Service Award: Awarded to a professional music therapist who resides and/or practices within the Great Lakes Region, and who has demonstrated a pattern of outstanding service and dedication to the Region through contributions as an Executive Committee member, state association leader, AMTA Standing Committee representative, AMTA Assembly Delegate, government or public relations proponent, etc.
- Distinguished Clinical Practice Award: Awarded to a professional music therapist who resides and/or practices within the Great Lakes Region, and who has demonstrated a pattern of exemplary clinical expertise through contributions as a direct service provider, internship supervisor, clinical trainer, and/or educator.
- Rising Leader Award: Awarded to a music therapist within their first certification cycle, an intern, or a music therapy student who resides and/or practices within the Great Lakes Region, and who has demonstrated leadership and a commitment to excellence within the music therapy profession.
ALL nominations are due by 5pm CT on Friday, January 31, 2025. Nominations can be made through the form below.
