Mill City Music Therapy is looking for a part-time music therapist passionate about working with older adults. We serve memory care, long-term care, and hospice patients as well as their family members in the west and south metro of the Twin Cities, providing both group and individual sessions. Sessions are catered to each group, keeping in mind the therapeutic goals and the music preferences of each resident.
Current Position: Part-time music therapist (with potential to grow to full-time)
Location: In person – Willing to drive throughout the west and south metro of the twin cities to visit clients
Hours: M- F 9-5, open to weekend times if needed
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy
Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification
Proficiency on guitar and piano
Responsibilities:
– Provide scheduled services according to your assigned caseload from your supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to, music therapy services, and the occasional therapeutic enrichment group.
– Design music interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve clients’ well-being.
– Invite clients to interact by encouraging them to participate in musical experiences
– Keep appropriate documentation:
—Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to establish accurate therapeutic goals for clients
—Monitor clients during music interventions and measure effectiveness and progress
– Maintain musical instruments and materials
– Communicate in a timely manner via phone and email with clients, family members/guardians, and other therapists or applicable professionals
– Attending group and individual employee meetings
